“

The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies for whom He wills.

— Qur'an 2:261

About Sadaqah

Everything you need to know before you give.

What is it?

Sadaqah means voluntary charity. Unlike Zakat (which has a fixed rate and threshold), Sadaqah has no minimum amount and no required time. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Charity does not decrease wealth.” (Muslim)

Give Sadaqah to remove hardship, in gratitude, or simply because you can, every act counts.

Who pays it?

Anyone, at any age, regardless of wealth. There is no nisab threshold for Sadaqah, even a smile is charity.

When is the best time to give?

Whenever you choose. Sadaqah is optional — there is no required time. Many donors give in Ramadan, on Fridays, during hardship, or after recovering from illness, but every moment is a good moment for voluntary charity.

How much?

Any amount. £1, £10, £100, give what your heart settles on. We channel Sadaqah donations to the area of greatest need: feeding students, supporting orphans, and emergency community welfare.

How your gift is distributed

  • Greatest need first. Sadaqah is directed to the most pressing welfare cases in Monuhorpur the week your gift arrives.
  • 100% reaches the cause. Optional Stripe fee cover at checkout means none is diverted.
  • Tracked centrally. Every Sadaqah donation is logged against the family or programme it supported.

How we deliver

Donations are received same-day in the UK, transferred weekly to our madrasa team in Sylhet, and disbursed within 48 hours of arrival. Every gift gets an email receipt; donors who tick the box also receive a distribution confirmation once the funds reach the recipient.

Supervised by our Chairman, Shaikhul Hadith Mufti Abdur Rahman.

Your impact

Where your gift lands

Sadaqah covers running costs. Teachers' wages, utilities, food for the students, books, and building maintenance. Every pound goes directly to the madrasa — UK admin is funded separately by the trustees.

Frequently asked questions

Can I give Sadaqah on behalf of someone else?

Yes. You will both receive reward — the donor and the person on whose behalf the Sadaqah is given. This is one of the most generous acts a Muslim can perform, especially on behalf of a deceased relative.

Is Sadaqah the same as Zakat?

No. Zakat is obligatory and has a fixed rate (2.5%) above a threshold. Sadaqah is voluntary, has no fixed amount, and can be given by anyone at any time. You can give both, they don't substitute for each other.

Where does my Sadaqah go?

To running costs. Sadaqah donations fund the day-to-day work of the madrasa: teachers' wages, utilities, and building maintenance. 100% of your gift reaches the school.

Looking for ongoing reward?

Consider Sadaqah Jariyah — a one-time gift that keeps earning reward long after you give it.
